Let It Snow?

I can't help but worry that if we have this winter wedding.... we could lose guests to inclement weather. I want everyone to be there....and get there and back safely. I do however, want some snow on the ground. So, a storm a day or two before would be nice. But I can't help but wonder what if... what if there is a storm that day? How will our guests get there and back? Will my photographer and DJ still make it? Will we be okay taking pictures in the cold or will my bridemaids be my "something blue"?

Well...there are ways to prepare for these things....and I'm sure everyone who wants to be there, will do whatever it takes. I got a bunch of ideas (that I will talk about below) from theknot.com and a few of my own.
Apparel: Nothing better than cute winter accessories!

-A cute white furry wrap for the bride, and shawls or pretty scarves for the ladies....
-The bridal party gifts could be a pair of boots to take pictures in the snow with.

-If snow is falling, use umbrellas.

-There are really cute gloves and stockings that can work well with wedding apparel.

-The guys can wear matching dark coats if the tuxes aren't enough.

Travel: Stay safe!

-Have the wedding at or very nearby a hotel. Maybe save a little extra for family who may not be able to afford a stay or to stay more than one night if needed. Block as many rooms as possible in advance.

-If the report calls enough snow to effect travel, get everyone who said they would go to stay someplace close before it starts...at another relative's place, your place, hotel.... then get some carpools going! Find friends with cars that are good in the snow, and have them pick people up.

-Have the number or card for a service, just in case.

-Valet parking (and coat check...while we're at it) would be convenient.

-Get the photographer, DJ or any other outside vendors to stay a night or two if they are traveling. Definately wouldn't want to be left without them!

-Have the ceremony, pictures, and reception at the same place....less travel for everyone.

-Know anyone with a plow? Perhaps they can lead the way!

Well as long as everyone is safe and warm....

A little snowfall won't hurt!

That warm love...

When I envision my winter wedding, I see warmth. I want that warm, cozy feeling to take over when guests come in from outside in the cold.

I would love to find a ballroom with a fireplace....but not much luck with that. Until then....I have found lots of other warm ideas.

Lots of candles. I love this entire look. The sheer fabric with light underneath, the trees with dangling candles, and more candles surrounding the bottom of the trees. It's very well lit....but I wonder...would it look the same way for a daytime wedding?

I don't like the cake....I like the lights in the background. I love the twinkling lights behind the sheer fabric....a very wintry, yet warm, look.

More twinkling lights and candles....this look is stunning.

I love this DIY idea... it's a seating chart!

I will have floating candles for sure... I have seen many ideas like this one. I think I would use white or clear marbles at the bottom to resemble ice or snow. Then maybe a pink or antique colored rose, or maybe some other winter flower. Otherwise the rest is perfect...I love the candles and petals surrounding it over a mirror. Maybe even put a wreath around it....and 3 different sized vases all together instead of 1.

Definately must have a self-serve hot cocoa/coffee bar during cocktail hour! What's warmer than that??

Everything about this mood board is GREAT.... the coat and wraps for the brides look nice and warm...also quite elegant and cute. Umm....top left....best idea ever....this is part of a make your own s'mores bar. The snowflakes on the cake are so pretty, I love them. Then, of course, there is also great candle lighting and hot cocoa...or cappucino? or whatever that is....looks tasty though.

Any other warm and cozy ideas for me???

Winter Flowers

There are so many great winter arrangements...and gorgeous flowers in this season. Put them together with monkey tails, frosted branches, snowflakes, feathers, pinecones...people come up with some great stuff. I can't wait to put together my own!
Amaryllis.... comes in many different colors....

Yes! It's a feather flower! why not?

Feathers and Pinecones!

Anemone...also in season for winter and in may colors.

I would probably tweak this arrangement a bit....but i love that snowflake thing at the top and all the different branches...plus it is in a vase with dangling snowflakes over faux snow. Very unique.

Roses, Gold, and Jasmine flowers (also in season for winter)

Monkey Tails!! love.

First post in my new wedding blog! My fiance and I plan to get married January 2013. I guess I'm doing this to share my planning, ideas, and awesome finds with friends and whoever else finds this. Also to track my own taste....I'm so indecisive! good thing I have time.... for any other winter brides out there that found me, I hope you find something helpful on here! I haven't had a whole lot of luck.

Well, I will start with this gorgeous couple I found today....how adorable are they?? I love the dress, the stockings, THE CONVERSE!!! So cute. AND it looks like they are using my colors....champagne and pink! I'm in love.
Yeah, yeah the ol' Converse
I am stuck in this "inbetween" world, where I want the cute "punky" look but I also love the classy and elegant look. I'm having a hard time finding that happy medium. We'll see how it goes... shopping doesn't begin until January 2012. Boo!

Some other stuff I am loving right now...
Tea Length Gowns...

This fuzzy wrap with lace...

FAVE favors.... I'm leaning towards a vintage style love song theme.
